Golden Gardens Park
A park with a view, Golden Gardens sits on the shore of Shilshole Bay and over looks the Olympic Mountains. Who would think that such a tranquil scene would be the sight of a struggle of epic proportions? Within the forests of Golden Gardens, the invasive plant English ivy is crowding out native trees and shrubs and making the survival of native seedlings extremely difficult. You can help by working with EarthCorps and Seattle Parks to dig this ivy out of the ground and by planting native trees and shrubs!
By Bus
Use the Metro trip planner to find the best way to get to the park. The 46 goes right to Golden Gardens so check to see if you can catch it somewhere near you.
From I-5 (Northbound or Southbound)
Take the 45th Street NE exit and head westbound on 45th St NE (towards Wallingford). Proceed through the intersection of 45th St NE and Stone Way N, veering right on N Midvale. At the stoplight/stop sign turn left on N 46th Street and follow it as it turns into N Market Street. Follow NW Market ST westbound through Ballard until it terminates where you will take a soft left on NW 54th St/ NW 54th ST becomes Seaview Ave NW. From here you will be able to see the water (Shilshole Bay) on your left. Follow Seaview AVE NW until you see the EarthShare/Day in the Park/ EarthCorps sign at the stop sign. Turn right and proceed under the railroad tracks to the parking lot immediately on the left.
You can then walk up the hill to the stairs that climb to an open space near the off-leash dog park. Do not plan on parking in the lot directly next to the dog-park as we need to keep spots open for those using that area on our work day.
